Crucially, it's also set to keep the same ultra-low price point, with confirmation that its tag will sit at 169 yuan (or Rs.1763 ). For the version with NFC, have to shell out 179 yuan, or Rs1868 .
The new elastomer band is available in blue, black and red, and, like the Mi Band 2, the display will allow users to view more accurate step counts thanks to improved pedometer algorithms. There's also data from the onboard heart rate monitor and you'll get inactivity reminders when you need to get up off your butt and do something active. Sleep monitoring is on board, which you can review on the revamped companion smartphone app.
Meanwhile, the display will also be a place where you can view smartwatch-like features, like messages, notifications, Caller ID, 3-day weather forecasts and alarm clocks, which can be turned off from the touchscreen. You can expect it to feature the same raise-to-wake feature that will let you quickly glance at your progress during the day and it'll also have the ability to unlock Android phones, although it's not clear which phones will support this feature.
For swimmers, the Mi Band 3 will handily pack a 5ATM waterproof body, which means it can withstand being submerged in water up to 50 metres deep - matching Fitbit's Flex 2 and Versa and Ionic watches for waterproofing.
On the battery life front, the Mi Band 3 will, the company claim, muster up 20 days of juice, which is exactly the same as what the Mi Band 2 could deliver. Interestingly, that means Xiaomi didn't
